At 0600 hours, Station 2 and Station 1 were alerted to a Brush Fire in the area of Summerfield Lane. Brush 29 arrived on location with heavy smoke showing from the woods and Lieutenant 22 assumed command. Unable to reach the fire due to the terrain, units began looking for an alternate access point. Tanker 25 located a private road off of Advance Mills Rd. Brush-29 and Brush-15 both deployed forestry lines to attach multiple spot fires over 3 acres. Crews from Tanker 25, Brush 29 and Support 21 also used water packs to hit hot spots. Forestry was called in and plowed a line around the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Virginia Forestry Department.
