Saturday November 19th, Station 2 along with Stations 3, 1, 4 and mutual aid from Earlysville Station 4, were dispatched to a structure fire on Simmons Gap Rd in Dyke, VA. First arriving units reported heavy fire showing and that there was a young girl trapped inside one of the structures. Station 3  was able to forcibly enter the structure and remove the young girl, who was then transported by rescue to the hospital with 2nd degree burns and smoke inhalation. Excellent work by our fellow firefighters at Station 3. Due the rural area of this fire, no fire hydrants were in the area. Ruckersville responded with Tanker 25 to assist in water supply operations, and Brush 29 to assist with manpower. Firefighters set up a dump tank operation and with the assistance of Station 1's Tanker 17 and Earlysville's Tanker 49 were able to keep attack operations continuously supplied with water. Great job by all departments involved.
